Unfortunately a big part of our education consisted in the obligation to function. Indeed, taking time for oneself seems to be synonymous with a waste of time. It’s hard to get rid of it. But spending a moment in stillness directing us automatically to our self love, gives us in a way, as a kind of bonus, new energy to confront our daily obligations.
Feels good but being in Crete , just being , would be so relaxing and rewarding!
Although I really want and enjoy to prepare this recital, more and more I realise that the real contentment lies in being in a state where you feel connected with yourself through nature.
Art is great and we need it but it has been mostly a therapy it seems. And a substitute for not feeling whole.
I'm watching Shogun recently, Patrick, and the difference in life philosophy between the Japanese and English is astounding. The Japanese basically just accept their small part in the cosmic plan of the universe, while the English seem to want to control their own destiny. It's a fascinating show, I highly recommend it. But it makes me think of what you wrote here. We're not really in control of anything, and the illusion that we are is kind of baked into our culture in the West. I wonder whether surrendering to the fact we have no control is what leaves to an ultimately more fulfilling, happy life.
Thanks for the Tip Thomas. I saw shogun on Disney+ but haven't seen, yet. Will definitely have a look. Yes, surrendering and cultivating trust. The more trust you have, the fewer worries you maintain, and thus, the more space you gain. Space that allows you to notice all the things you couldn't before since they've been covered by the worries and the efforts in trying to control. It's like suddenly every moment seems to become more colorful. My first breakthrough I had in 2021 and since 1 year now I'm training myself every single day to spot and transform such unconscious thoughts. The only thing that was as rewarding was the birth of my daughter :)

Thank you Patrick 😊
Yes, our education is indeed deeply ingrained and requires repetitive experiences to alter the belief.
Thank you for sharing🍀😊

On the train to Frankfurt for a rehearsal.
